PERSONAL COMMERCIAL

Example 1:

The Shop and Coffee House

Lee

Lee wanted a neighborly down-to-earthinvitation to spread the word about the opening of their local shop and coffee house.

The Shop And Coffee House's Message

To create a safe and social environment for people of all backgrounds, identities and sexualities to have coffee and shop for unique handmade items at affordable prices. Dogs are also invited.

How We Executed It

Lee didn't just want the personal commercial to be a story about herself, but a set of mini stories highlighting her vendors. She also wanted to keep her camera time limited and her mother, who wasn't in the shop the day of filming, was able to influence us through her. Lee wanted most of the video to be an introduction to the shop's diverse array of artists and vendors. We based the video look on the shop's vintage allure, so we used a lens from the time period of the treasures in the store. We added a licensed stock song inspired by rockabilly swing while matching different items in the shop to Lee's description of their makers.

Lydia

Lydia wanted to bring more exposure to her hidden gem bridal boutique. We found a unique way to show off her designer collection while being open about why the dresses are
discounted.

Oh My Gown's Message
All women deserve to afford the wedding dress of their dreams, even if it's designer.

How We Executed It

Lydia was not picky and cared more about her message than the aesthetic we went with so we had room to play. We used two  lenses to test different looks. The first is a muted, classy, 1920's old money feel with a vignette that gives it a very niche charm. The second uses  higher levels of saturation to pronounce the colors in the dresses, with hints of neon and exaggerated pinks. This gives the video a more open and youthful impression that may appeal to younger generations versus the first that characterizes a more conventionally exclusive experience. We also incorporated her backstory from when she was a young girl with a passion for dresses to further enhance the video's  authenticity along with adding multiple takes of her goofy and social butterfly personality.
